Hummingbird Technologies

Join the Swarm

We're building something that doesn't exist yet. We need people who want to build the future.

Build Technology That Saves Lives

Hummingbird Technologies is an early-stage deep-tech startup creating the world's first mobile autonomous drone swarm platform for public safety. This is a full-stack hardware and software challenge spanning robotics, embedded systems, AI, aerospace, and field operations.

We're looking for engineers, builders, and operators who are energized by hard problems and motivated by impact. If you want to work at the intersection of autonomy, robotics, and public service — this is where that work is happening.

Areas We're Building

We're growing across these disciplines. If your skills align, we want to hear from you.

Robotics & Mechanical Engineering

Design and build the physical platform: drone airframes, launch and retrieval mechanisms, vehicle integration, and ruggedized enclosures. Work with advanced materials, precision mechanisms, and systems designed for harsh field conditions.

Embedded Systems & Firmware

Develop the low-level systems that make the hardware intelligent: flight controllers, motor drivers, sensor fusion, power management, and real-time communication protocols. Bridge the gap between physical systems and software control.

Autonomy & AI / Computer Vision

Build the autonomous decision-making systems: path planning, obstacle avoidance, swarm coordination algorithms, object detection, thermal analysis, and mission-level AI. Push the boundaries of what autonomous systems can do safely and reliably.

Full-Stack Software Engineering

Create the mission control software: real-time dashboards, map-based planning interfaces, fleet management tools, and communication infrastructure. Build reliable, performant software that operators trust with their missions.

Mission Operations & Field Testing

Take the technology to the field: plan and execute test flights, validate operational procedures, work with public safety agencies, and translate real-world feedback into engineering requirements. The bridge between the lab and the mission.

Business Development & Government Relations

Build relationships with public safety agencies, government procurement offices, and strategic partners. Navigate the regulatory landscape. Help shape the market for autonomous aerial systems in public safety.

What It's Like Here

We're a small, focused team moving fast on a hard problem. The work is interdisciplinary — hardware people talk to software people, and everyone understands the mission. We value ownership, intellectual honesty, and the willingness to figure things out that haven't been figured out before. This is early-stage startup work: high autonomy, high impact, and the chance to shape something from the ground up.
